It seems that there are more Walleye junkies in UTah than I thought. Walleye is my preferred fish and I spend manymany hours chasing them. However, i understand that I live in a slimer state and warm water species are not a priority unless it is considered endangered like the June Sucker in Utah Lake. Thank you DNR for feeding my Walleye’s. Any time that you have a situation like Willard there will be those who will exploit it. If it happened to be Cutthroat and not Walleye they would have the National Guard out in force. Just my opinion but this is the way I see it.

I remember the days at Utah lake. People lined up for the snag fest. The provo river was the worst. But since they have closed all of the areas for the snaggers, I have noticed a few changes in the lake.
1 The walleye seem to be bigger in numbers but smaller in size.
2 The white bass also seem to be getting smaller in size
The best part about protecting the walley at utah lake is the June sucker. You would think that they would want the walleye out of the lake to help the June sucker?
The point of my post is that the lake will be just fine, I would bet it will be better. Take some of the fish out and the others will get bigger. If the snagging is a problem they can give tickets out. Maybe they opened the inlet for this reason. Eliminate some fish and to make money on the people who just cant seem to follow the rules. Its a win win.

I do have another question for anybody. Where are all the dwr ads/ and information that drew is talking about in his post about this issue? I’am not talking about the RAC meetings. I’ve read the minutes. not discussed. I did read about some lady wanting to take her fox out in public and they debated in great lenth about leashes or muzzle( Different minutes). The reason I’am asking is this issue should have been debated last year at this time before I signed on to bft. I heard more about the wiper limit reduction in 2011.
Also an issue this big you would think DWR would mention it in the 2013 guidebook under the highlight section “Whats new this season Regulation changes for popular fisheries”… willard change not mentioned
