t really ain’t that hard.[crazy][crazy][crazy]
hay people there was many threads on here about when and where the meetings where i went in regards to tigers in the berry and tried to get many others to go the only people that seemed to care was hard core bass fisherman there was about 8 of them and me that was not much of a public responce
With all due respect, the RAC schedules have been posted here about every time for several years. The meetings in question were put up by Tubedude a few days before the meeting. As usual for here and most sites, there were no responses.

Usually AmyC from the DWR posts them up, but Pat or sometimes myself have posted them too. It just never seems to interest too many folks. ![]()
Here is Amy’s post about the Wildlife board meeting, where the changes were finalized .

Did that. where in any of the minutes is willard bay inlet dicussed. I did find one letter in the november 2012 but that was of the proposed changes not dicussion. I guess my question would was it discussed.
Probably wasn’t discussed. No reason for a discussion when only one side of the discussion is represented. When there’s nobody there to represent the other side, the judge rules in favor of the party that is present.

There. No more hand holding. No, I will not remind everyone. No, I will not lead you by the hand. No, I will not offer rides to or from the meetings.
**Thanks for remembering. I not only posted the schedules, but I showed up too…and at the “Open House” meetings.
I do not remember ANY discussion of the proposed opening of the Willard Bay inlet. All I remember is that a bunch of bow fishermen monopolized the meeting with their requests and concerns.
The first I heard about it was on the “trial run” copy of the new regs for 2013. The opening of the inlet was mentioned in the list of changes. Too late to make any noise then.

Oh I get it!!! You mean the way to change something is to contact authorities, be proactive, and attend your regional meetings to express your concerns? I’m foolish, this whole time I thought you were supposed to get on the internet and “keyboard spit” in eachothers faces to get something done.
Yes, I was at that meeting too. I read about the change at some point in the pre-meeting packet, but the subject never came up in the meeting itself when the DWR presented their proposed changes. In hindsight, maybe they should have made a larger emphasis on it then to generate more discussion. It wasn’t in their angler survey.
The bowfishing thing was informative for what is discussed here. The bowfishers showed up en masse, had sensible proposals, engaged the RAC, and got what they wanted.
Seemed to work a lot better than illiterate rants on the internet.
It’s kind of hard to make RAC meetings if you work a second shift. If I remember correctly a year or so ago it was brought up on the BFT site on how the local angling society felt about reducing the limit on wipers. There was alot of input from the members here that felt the limit should be reduced, a year later the limit went from 6 to 3. I know the DWR reads the info on this site especially Drew. There is a grundle of fisherman who read what is posted on the site. I’ve said my piece so SNAGGERS have at’em.
I JUST SPENT 2 HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH DREW I am eating a crap load of crow about now, drew told me about the inlet and the biologo…somtinsomtin works the law enforcement is doing everthing they can..if you see snagged fish CALL they are just around the corner,Im sorry for beating up on the dwr,now i know the way it is,crow dont taste verry good
it will be ok[;)]
It sure sounds like the topic was not very well covered and if I remember correctly when the list of proposed changes was brought up on this site, that was not on the list.
The DNR could do a better job with social media, I have noticed there is a better effort now than there use to be but it could be better. It seems they expect things to always be the same as far as their RAC meetings go but nothing stays the same forever. I think the day will come when there will be better interaction between the RAC and the hunting and fishing community, in these matters. A good start would be a full list of proposed changes, so people can make a more informed decision on why they need to be at these meetings. Being able to submit questions or comments in the form of an Email would also be helpful for those that can’t attend the RAC. or do they allow that already[:/]?
I for one may only look at bft once a week or less, and the times I look for the rac meeting it shows like it does now that none are going on now…
If they are posted on this site they should be put at the top of the page till all dates for them have past..
The dwr page is not viewer friendly at all..
I just seen this post but to me from reading this: Who has seen any law or DWR people at the inlet checking fish??
If like the DWR says they are their who has seen them and when??
In fairness to the DWR, it was in the pre-RAC packet which was made available to those on their email list and it was posted here by Pat, before the meetings. Unfortunately, for the Willard guys that disagree with the regs, nobody that has a problem with the change noticed or saw fit to raise an objection at the time. When Mr. Cushing presented the proposed changes to the Central RAC, he had a pretty long list of things to cover in a limited time, so I can’t fault him for not spending extra time on the Willard thing when nobody was asking questions about it. Most of the people there were present with their own concerns or proposals or were representing sportsmens groups, as I was. I do feel the DWR might have dropped the ball in not including the Willard change in their angler survey, but there may be a reasonable answer for why it wasn’t included.
RE" The DNR could do a better job with social media, I have noticed there is a better effort now than there use to be but it could be better."
I agree, but AmyC has been doing a good job recently in getting the word out on forums like this and I do think they are doing better than they did and will continue to improve, with her help.

This would be up to the mods, but I agree that a sticky note for open houses, RAC, and Wildlife board meetings would be a good idea.
In fairness, I was at the inlet today( not fishing) and saw a total of 4 fish cops at the south marina with one actively checking folks. I also witnessed a young boy snag a walleye, and after papa took pics he released the fish and expressed how he wanted to get one in the mouth to take home. Good dad. I had a lengthy discussion with Mr Cushing today and he seemed sinsere in all the things he said. While I won’t go into detail about the conversation, I will say I was surprised to hear what the state has planned for walleye fishing in utah. I’m gonna have some new waters to learn… [fishon]
Utah is very lucky that so many officials monitor these boards and take the time out of their day and work schedule to contribute here and answer questions and clarify things.
That is not something every state has the luxury of, you guys are spoiled. For him to give his cell # out and be willing to discuss and explain the situation over the phone - that is a good guy!
Your a MOD and you talk like this..
For your INFO I have put my E-mail down on many lists to be let know about any of the dwr meeting where people can come too. I have only been told of one and I was there..
The dwr or what ever they are called are meeting this next week I am a member of and still did not hear of the meeting and now all the rooms are full..
I have tried to work with the dwr and Drew many times and been to other rac meetings about other things that have come to pass like the new rules at Jordanelle and others..
Why I only look once a week at BFT and not post any more is people attacking people like you just did me..
That is good to hear, maybe it will work if the DWR keeps it up..
Snag FEST?
Did someone mention a SNAG FESTIVAL ![]()
check out wat I snagged!..from Florida not Utah

I have posted them, as a sticky (which will ensure that they will be at or near the top of the first page) and they will stay there, as a sticky, unless my fellow moderators disagree with my actions.
