I hate to do this to ya lone hunter, but here we go again, its another master angler size fish. a 9 1/4 green sunfish.

this is just to show ya what I am entering in to the 16 species contest after the next tally.

lol I had to go back and see what that green sunfish is going to do to my score, Its going to raise it three quarters of one point. (thats 0.75 points lol ) I needed another quarter inch to make a whole point. Oh well the patch will help cover my skinned knee

where you catching these fish , at the powerhouse gym ? lol !

you are prity dam close lol, I get them at the dam on powers beach on the huron river :sunglasses:

cool , i glad i’m not the only ( pardon the pun ) dam fisherman !, i love fishing the dams , i get more fishing action there .

i hear the lower huron is getting some smallie action , but that’s gonna be a drive for you . there’s a few coho’s in with the steelhead at flatrock during late october there .

you aint a kiddin about being a long drive, I live just 1/2 mile from the river and I am just about 3 miles from the rivers’ point of origin.:sunglasses:

flat rock is about 40+ miles as the crow flys from me and 100+ miles by boat [crazy]

them smallies turned on prity good my way this week too. they are hitting on top the water. its wild to watch their backs and dorcil fins breaking water just a few feet away from me like sharks before they hit.:astonished:

the kids came out to fish beside me today and was flat out amaized to see the bass jumping right out of the water to swallow ay my fly. while I enjoy seing the fish jumping and have come to expect it, the surpize for the kids is a reward of its own.:sunglasses:

also a first for the kids to see today was a fly rod and how it works. it was a little to windy to make it work properly but what I could show them has them excited about fly fishing.:sunglasses:

changing up on my styles of fishing has been productive for me and brought in a different species in the same area. seems the different fish are holding together but each like different presentations. even using the same lure or bait with a different presentation has made a difference on what i will reel in.:sunglasses:

now if I could fix my short term memory and right down my experiments relults I would be able to match up my fish to my lure and how to… [sly]

sounds like a perfect day of fishing to me !

seeing them kids smile and learning a new way of fishing has to be inspiring to say the least .

with all my practice , i’m still having a little trouble with a simple roll cast , but mending a cast came second nature . i think it must have something to do with getting my arm smashed last year , some mussels work better than others .

watcha using for a fly ? i’ve been fliping rocks and checking along the banks for creatures to imitate , but nothing seems to work , i think there’s too much cottonwood fuzz on the water for a deacent fly presentation , but that big old brown just keeps rising and gulping every so often .

i think he knows i’m there and he’s just having fun teasing me ! lol !

i’m thinking of hitting the river with a few spinning lures tomorow , after i put the jeep’'s interior back in . ther’s more to that story . see the freshwater forum .

I try to use the colm days for the fly rod and windy days for spinner baits and crank baits live bait and plastics.:sunglasses:

we actualy got run off the lake yesterday by a nnasty electrical storm. I ran the kids away from all the aluminum boats, they just got back to their house when it hit with a burst of heavy winds and hail. three kids a mile or so down the road from he met my misfortune and was hit by lightning. one is hospitolized with a busted ear durm, he is rough shape but is expected to be ok.[pirate]

the news camera showed where the bolt hit the ground and left a big hole. the kids was running to get in out of the storm when they were hit right in their own front yard.[pirate]
