Starvation??

Any reports on starvation? Was thinking about heading out this weekend but wondering if i should go somewhere else since i have not seen any reports. Any help would be great. i have done well this time of year in past but with all the cold weather i wonder..

Just talked with Bob who fished it today. Water temp was 47 degrees and he had 3 bites and no fish hooked. The Ranger said nobody has done any good this year yet. Hope it warms up in the next 2 weeks. If not I may just have to go back to Powell again.

A long, cold 3 hours of fishing at the inlet yesterday. Not a bite for myself or the other 4 guys there when I got there. About 2 foot waves with thewhole lake covered in white caps. It was ridiculous, therefore no launching the 14 foot boat I hauled out about 100 miles[crazy].

Thanks for the info guy’s. Still up in the air on giving it a try but will post a report if i do.

My friend and I fished it a couple weeks ago. Full to the brim. Started trolling in the inlet. Caught 1 bow and 1 brown. Went into the shallow bays and cast lures. I caught a hook jawed 22 inch brown and my friend caught another brown. Next in the bay N E of the dam. A couple rainbows. We haven’t caught rainbows in win Starvation in forever. It has always been browns, waleyes and a few bass . Caught maybe 6 or 7 for the morning. The water was cold. We think it can do nothing but get better as it warms up. A couple years ago all the browns we caught were like eels. 15 to 20 or so inches and skiiiny. We like to fish Starvation and since the perch mysteriously showed up they are chunky again.

I got blown out of Daggit county( Flaming Gorge) tuesday so I thought I would go dow2n to starvation to give it try, water temp was 47degrees. tryed all the spots last spring that produced eyes, saw only a couple of bottom huggers that looked like eyes, spoke to the park ranger Allen and he said it has been dead so far. We decided the water needs to warm a bit for the eyes to get going. I did I say how much I love the WIND!!!

Thanks for the report. I guess I will wait a bit before I venture out to Starvation.

With the way the weather is going maybe it will warm up in August..
