I am afraid of fishing the tournament now that I have seen what wrongway johnson pulls out of starvation have you heard from him yet? I fished Thurs. night and was great to meet him while I also had the most exciting time I have ever had and not be the one catching fish. If your his partner than I am sure I should worry about you just as much. I would like to enter the tournament just to see what else is lurking around out there. I took some pics but I might have to wait to post them. I would not want to spoil the tournament now would I. I have been HUMBLED. And it is great!!! NOW I just need to find me a partner…ANY BODY?? … MY BOAT IS OUT OF COMMISSION that is my problem

So far we have about 15 signed up for the Starvation Tourney.
Correct about the first place BUT he didnt sign up to be a member so chances are he wont be hitting another tournament with us. Maybe he will though, so just go out and figure out the walleye on Starvation and you wont have any problems!
I have been back to Yuba once since tourney and found one lonely pike that wanted to play. I could have used him for bait though! Wasnt very big at all.
Oh I am not counting myself out I am just sure I have to practice. I dont know if everybody can handle the pics. I know I am just the messenger and wrongway told me that I could post them but I have to be worried about this thread getting locked because of different opinions. He was hungry!!! I think if everybody sees that their are many more fish in Starvation of this caliber it would not be a big deal.. how about I just show a teaser

Let’s see the real pic’s. Wrongway called me and told me he caught a couple of trophies and that you got pictures. While he didn’t specify walleye he didn’t say carp either. What’s the deal?
I already posted the walleye pics up last night on my last post. The carp pic was a joke…[;)] seeing those fish got me so excited that I was shaking with eagerness.
I started to fish way to FAST and wasnt really fishing the way I need to at this time of the year. I also lost at least 20 setups in all the rocks. I STILL HAVE NOT CAUGHT A SPRING WALLEYE THIS YEAR. I havnt given up though…
FOD, was great to meet you yesterday. My husband and I had a good time chit-chatting with you. 20 setups? Geebs, I got all bent out of shape losing 4. I hope that you get a nice spring walleye (or two) soon. Hope to see you out there again some time. Interesting that one feller was trying to make a tree ornament out of that one walleye.
Those are some nice fish! It sure gets me even more excited to catch one than i was before. It looks like there will be some nice fish caught at the tourny. For me the tourny’s are more to see where and how the people who know these fish catch them. Should be fun. Bet they tasted good too
It was good to meet you guys as well and that is great you signed up. It was nice to have some decent company unlike what all the other visitors had to offer. I am sure the lucky fella took the fish home with him.(but you never know) That was the biggest fluke I have seen to date. I left early also because of all the chaos.(kids and rocks just make me want to leave) Who does that? I cant understand how he and everybody else who showed up all wend around to the other side of the inlet and fished right opposite of me and dropped worms and threw jigs right where my casts were being thrown all day. They diddnt realize I could have thrown a crankbait right at them and ripped off their nose if I was not as patient as I am. Lesson learned. Dont fish the diversion inlet on a Friday night.(or any weekend night at that.) I would rather fish a dry pond. It was a good idea to leave early because more and more people were showing up and it was going to get worse. Hope you guys good fishing and maybe we will see you at Pelican or Deer Creek one day as well.
That is an eater if I’ve ever seen one. Wrongway, you should smoke it with cherry wood. My Grandpa used to do that and they were good I’m not ashamed to admit.
Dont get me or our club wrong we dont care if people keep any fish. Its your right to keep them, and those were dandies to keep! We advise not keeping them for tournaments and that is purely from a tournament standpoint, cause if we all kept the tournament fish we could end up doing some damage, and we prefer not to do that to our fisheries. The winner of the Yuba tournament kept his pike. I have kept fish, and wont yell at anyone else for keeping them, not even at a tourney.
And we’ll back up whatever anyone does, because it is their right to do it.
I keep eye’s myself, typically not as big as those were however. If it’s 20 or so inches and below I’ll keep them. There is no better eating fish then smaller walleye. If they are spawning unless it’s going on the wall I will not keep a big female just because she’s got a ton of eggs on her. Hey it’s your fish eat it if you want. I can’t stand people who are indignant and tell another fisherman what he should or shouldn’t do. I have an answer for anyone who says it to me. Can’t post it on the board he he.
I think that you guys are great…I keep fish too… mainly walleye… mainly smaller ones like everybody else. I was not trying to say that he shouldnt have kept the fish cause I would have kept the bigger one and put it on my wall. I also was not trying to put any spot light on the clubs viewpoints I think you are guys doing great things and I want to participate as much as possible. I was more worried about other BFT walleye fishing anglers getting into a pissing match. From what I can assume the toothy anglers guys are better than needing to force their opinions on others. We have all have seen threads get locked because people get so easily offended. So hey, I think we are all on the same page.[;)]
To all who get in some starvation practice, I’ll be at starvation habitually for the next few weeks. After you stop laughing at the drift boat come say hi.
I knew we were on the same page. I’ll be out there at some point. Have one biz trip for four days next week then will be back to get some fishing in. Drift boat for walleye? I guess the way the wind blows out there you’ll be able to troll by wind ha ha. May have to buy a drift sock. That is if my boat gets fixed in time. I’d go right now with it but want to get it fixed correctly. My boat is in my avatar. If you see me make sure you give a yell. Wrongway already knows me. Pez hooked me on Apricot Brandy, bad influence ha ha.
Yea a drift boat is my only other option besides bank tangling and I am almost all done doing that!!. I do have a quantum bass boat but I need to redo the back deck because it is very weak and weathered. I do well using plastics so I plan on anchoring up for the most part in likely areas that I have caught fish before. If I have to I will enter the tourney with that drift boat. A wind sock is also a good idea.
So do I need to get some brandy too? I am more of an Irish whiskey guy… or any whiskey at that. To me apricot brandy in my liquor cabinet would be used for a pan sauce. That would be awesome with walleye!!
Get your practice in then I’ll jump in the drifter with you for the tournament and you can show me where to fish! Due to my work schedule over the next few weeks, I wont be able to practice and the tourney will be the first time at starvation for me.
