starvation report

I headed up to starvation this morning to look for some walleye. I never found them but the perch wanted to play. I fished in 48 ft. of water with a green jig head tipped with half a nightcrawler. I ended up with 13 perch, all fat females. The perch seemed to disappear around noon. I only caught 2 of them after 12. I left around 2. The highlight was I did manage to catch a fat healthy brown measuring 20 1/2 inches long. I would guess he was in the 3-4 lb. range. There is a good 10 inches of snow on top of 18 inches of ice. The edge at the boat ramp was solid this morning but softening up by the time I left. I didn’t notice any slush untill I drilled my holes and the water started rising out of them.

Nice to hear a successful Starvation report! I can’t belive the ice is that thick up there!!! Any signs of maybe some open water anytime soon out in the basin? I will accept lies, stretching the truth, or a fishermans’ tale, or I suppose you could just sock it to me. Sounds like it’s going to be a while before I launch at Starvation[unsure].
