Well they opened 40 back up at 6pm last night so I was able to launch from Rabbit Gulch. Launched at 5:45am and made my way to the island first cast hooked a good Walleye and the stinking critter spit the hook at my toon, second cast another hit but small mouth not a walleye it was around 12 inches. A couple cast later my first walleye of the morning a healthy 16 incher, about time. Caught 6 Walleye and a grundle of smallmouth and a couple pretty nice smallies.
The Walleye bite was done by around 8:30am caught most of the fish on a glow in the dark 1/4 jig with a gulp minnow and a few tipped with a crawler. The funny thing about the crawler it had to be fresh, after a few minutes of fishing I would have to freshen it up.
