Spring has sprung here in Florida….

We have definitely had some cold spells this winter, water was cold and fish were not active, the fishing had been a bit tough. We went out yesterday, weather was beautiful and the water is quickly warming up. Found a nice school of whitebait in the perfect 3” range, quickly got a livewell full with a few throws of the next. We fished some of our inshore islands and I immediately hooked up with two huge snook that broke me off, time to change from 25# flouro. leader to something a bit heavier as I think our big snook have moved into the area. A little later in the day I lost another big snook, I think I went 0-5 on snook. I did catch a few Reds and a trout. My fishing partner got a nice snook and took home a couple of trout for fish tacos. Weather and fishing is definitely turning on here in the Tampa area.
