Went to North Carolina for almost 10 days, too bad I only got a half day of fishing in. But it’s better than my recent and other upcoming trips. Not too long ago went on separate trips to Georgia, Cleveland and Texas without fishing and also have upcoming week long trips planned to San Diego and Hawaii both without fishing planned. So I guess my half day fishing in North Carolina aint too bad.
We started off catching a bunch of Spanish mackerel, the guide told us that would be dinner. I know about king mackerel, but not much about the smaller Spanish variety, which turned out to be tasty. While fishing for bait, we caught a bunch of smaller fish including a puffer fish of some sort. Never fished the east coast before so what I really wanted was a tarpon. But the area we fished is not well known for Tarpon, so red drum would have to do. Ended up with a nice ~15 pound redfish.
Also got a little too close to another toothy creature, but got a picture without loosing a hand.
