After work this morning, me and my 7 year old son got to get out to a small stream. We caught 31 and he didn’t want to quit after 3 hours!
Caught a couple that were bigger than I expected and he begged to take home for dinner, but I made him put them back[sly].
Great day on the water with a great fishin buddy. Most fish were caught on a prince nymph that I fished under a caddis ‘indicator’.

Oh yeah he did!! He hooked about 5-6 and landed 3, he had trouble keeping them on because of line control issues. I let him pull in several others after I got them on the reel (although it was hard not to accidentally land them[:p]) He asked today when we were going to go again!!
Great report. Brings back memories of the first time my son went fly fishing 8 years ago on a stream about that size in Idaho. I’ll probable take him back there next month. I imagine you’ll be taking him back there several times in the future.
