Spent the day at the Ladders the fish spent the day somewhere other than the Ladders! Well there were fish they were just biting very little. Tried a new location in the morning, there were fish, hits were light taps only. Moved out to deeper water at lunch time and immediately my son hooks into a cutt. Moved two more times seeing fewer and fewer before we called it a day.
Measured the ice at 12 inches now still very slick and clear.
I hate the ladders. always have seen very few fish on the monitor there.
I like it for the easy access when going out with the young and old but I will be looking for new hunting grounds. Two weeks ago we had a pretty good day there but today was back to the way it was.
I haven’t fished over there for a couple years. Usually had good days over there though. That was the first place I ever ice fished at. Like you said, easy access is a good reason to fish there. More recently I take my atv when I go up there and have found some places I like better. Any day at the Berry is a good day. Some days are just better.
