With catching my first carp yesterday on a fly, I decided to head back to utah lake and try for the white bass. I headed to a spot where I’ve had luck with a spinner in the past and got set up. On my very first cast I had a fish on and soon landed my first white bass on a fly! I landed a dozen or so and lost that many or more. It’s been a fun couple of days.
were u using a minnow fly??? and what colors ??
Were you on shore or in a boat/tube/toon? I can’t wait to give the White Bass a try on the fly!
I wanted to last year but the spawn was done the day I finally tried. I bought some nasty green flies and even some big pink/silver sparkly ones to get them this year.
I used whatever is in the picture I posted. I have no idea what the name of it is. I also used orange and green wolly buggers and had success with those. I’m somewhat new to the game of fly fishing so I hope you’ll forgive my lack of knowlege.

ya im pretty sure its a minnow because of how the eye leads look like lol. Sound like a fun time catching them on fly rod XD
