I recently went to Singapore for work. Interesting place to say the least. I had some free time so I went fishing of course. There, the only option for fresh water fishing are big ponds stocked with who knows what of all shapes and sizes. I was able to land several fish of 5 different species; 4 new species for me.
1st picture is a walking catfish. They can breathe air and move on land to get to new water (never heard of one before).
2nd picture is a Rahu Carp.
3rd is a Patin (only top water bite of the day).
4th is a red tail catfish.
5th is a Chao Pharya Catfish (hardest fighting fish of the day).
All of these fish made several long runs and were a blast to fight. I had several fish beat me by throwing the hook or breaking the line. Good times.
Wow Rick, those are some impressive fish that you caught right next to the freeway. Do they primarily do catch and release?
It was all catch and release. They told me these were ave sized for this pond. They put the little medium rod I had to the test.
That looks like fun.

Wow don’t think I would do any wading in that pond , I like my toes. I would think it was the Amazon. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, sounds like great trip to Singapore. Thanks for sharing the details and the pics

Awesome!
What were they biting on?
Cut bait and live bait.
Looks like a good time for sure! Way to go! Fred.
