Are there any trips that target Blues or Makos in California?

I remember the Angler and I where fishing China Cove over in Catalina last year and the Yellows erupted on the surface and a big O Mako comes strollin’ by. We tore up our tackle looking for wire leaders NADA. Kept killin’ Yellows.
What should we have thrown at him 140 to 160 pounds.

Hey I just checked out the allcoast board and saw that shark. Pretty thick!!! We catch Smoothounds and Shovelnose about the same size but not as thick. Check them out.
