Scofield still fishing good 5/24

Arrived at Scofield this morning at 6:00. Air temp was 26 deg and some fog. Water temp was cool to the touch[;)]. We had 8 in our group so we split up to see if we could find where the fish were playing. 4 went near the dam and the other four including me went down on the south east end. We kept in contact using 2 way radio’s and both groups did well enough that we never moved. We forgot the minnow trap at home so we used powerbait and worms to begin with. Also tried some frozen shiners. Worms did best. Once we got a female bow we made roe bags and did well on them as well. My group caught 17 fish, all bows except for one tiger. Largest about 2 1/2 pounds. The other group by the dam brought their minnow trap and had good luck catching tigers on minnows. They finished with 15 fish with about half tigers and half bows. So for 8 people (4 of which were kids who were playing more than fishing) we caught 32 fish. We brought several home for dinner. We had a little wind during the morning but overall it turned out to be a really nice day. Lots of boats on the lake and plenty of bank tanglers like us rimming the shoreline. It was about 48 when we left at 11:00. Definitely worth the trip today. The kids had a blast as usual. As usual I took the camera and then forgot to take any pics.
