Scofield is fishing well right now. We trolled some and picked up quite a few fish. We saw other trollers picking up fish as well , others were bait fishing from boats and I saw them landing fish as well. There have been quite a few bank fishermen but I have not noticed if they are catching. Last trip we trolled for a bit and figured we might do better jigging. We did bunches better with the jigs. I lost count of the # of doubles I caught. We caught one triple and might have done a quad but the grandson would only fish one rod. (dang kid)
This was last Friday. Fishing midweek is a LOT less crowded. It might not be as bad when it is not the 3rd of July.
Welcome back, it’s been a while since we last saw you, fmrusmc. Thanks for the info on the chubs . Amazing the change that has taken place in that lake. If you are looking for chubs, try Lost creek.
Its been a while since Ive been on here. Thanks for the welcome. I went to Lost Creek on Friday and Sunday and pulled out around 200 chubs. Im stocked up on bait now but could always use more.
Lots of chubs in LC, that’s for sure. We mainly use our chubs for cat fishing and perch fishing and in the Winter for bait fishing, while vertical jigging. What do you use yours for?
One 12" chub while trolling a spinner blade tipped with worm. We saw a school of about 20 chubs. they looked to be 10 to 12". They were about 4’ down and the grandsons were all over trying to catch em. They were fish to them and we were there to catch fish.
Last trip my bride went and she likes to troll rather than cast so we trolled. She caught 5 chubs and I caught 1. She was pretty pleased. She has bragged to a couple people since then about how she out-fished me. Kind of like my selective hearing, she fergot about all the cuts and bows I was catching. (I will take that any day if she will go).
