I know some of the talk on the board lately has been the ice conditions at Scofield. I am curious as to how much open water, especially on the edges, is still available at Scofield to bank fish.
My kids would like to fish there one last time before it completely freezes over.
I was there yesturday and there was hardly any open water and after last night I doubt there is any open water. There is about 5 inches of safe ice by the dam though if you want to ice fish. Most of the fish we caught were really small (only 6-8 inches) but we also caught a few decent ones.
I was up there today a couple open spots I say one guy in a float tube as you come into the lake and one guy on the bank just south of the dam but I think today will be the last day for some shore fishing.
