Wasn’t sure I was going to get out today, but got everything done and made a run to Scofield. Late start, arrived at 8:30 to a crisp 10 degrees [:)] When I left at 4:30 the temp was 48[:(] The ice was in better shape this week than it was last week with thirty inches and solid edges. When I was walking off I noticed that as I started walking uphill I was still on ice. I think the level has gone down the last couple of weeks. Explains all the cracking. Probably for the construction on the dam. There is a little open water in the dam arm with people fishing it all day. Not many people on the ice.
Fishing was spotty. I started out fishing along the East side of the island in eight feet of water. Did pretty good out there caught a nice nineteen inch rainbow and a twenty inch tiger. Biggest tiger I have ever caught! When things slowed down at the island I started working my way back across to the highway drilling holes every 100 yards. Some holes produced, some didn’t. Used jig head tipped with crawler and cured trout roe. Crawlers worked best today. Ended the day with fifteen fish. Two cutts, two tigers and the rest were bows.
