I got to scofield at about 730 this morning. Not a soul on the lake that I could see. But thats not saying much seeing as it was mostly covered by fog to start off. I went to the south east end bout 100 yards out from shore. Drilled my holes dropped down and bam it was on. Nothing of size just some small slot cutts. It was non stop though till the sun finally peaked over the hill then it died. I started off fishing two poles but it was so hot I had to move to one. Again they were slott limit cutts but they were sure fun to catch. After the sun came over it was bout 30 mins before my next catch which just happened to be a chub. Decided he was bait. caught a few more off and on from that bait but ended my day with this nice 19.5 inch cutt. Wish I could’ve caught those elusive tigers maybe next week. All in all thumbs up day.
Looks like you had a good time. Even a nice one to boot. I am heading back up tommorow with the kids hope that they can find some willing fish.
I have never ice fished in the evening so i am taking my wife and oldest boy up i hope they get hungry after the sun goes down again we will see. the perfect date night! How was the slush??
The slush was frozen where I was but I was told that it got bad as you went further out to the island. Hope you guys have fun. Stay warm it was -15 when I arrived this morning. Frost was growing on my coat as I breathed. Didn’t see what it was when I left but it definitely warmed up a lot.
I did notice that most of the people that showed up did so around 930 10. Hope you guys get your spot and get into some fish. Have a good time.
