Sand hollow reports??

I was wonder if anyone has been down there lately??I am heading down south and want to stop and try for some bass a few hours. Are the bas still on the flats (shallows) were you can wade? Or have they gone deeper?? Any info would be great . Thanks!

I was down in that area May 28-30 and got a little fishing in there. I did the best over on the north (I think) side of the ramp where there’s a pipe that makes a little waterfall down over the rocks into the lake. Had quite a few largemouths including a couple chunkers. They were all pretty shallow and I was fishing out of a tube casting toward the inlet. My wife and father-in-law also got into some from the shore (same spot). I caught several smaller ones while wading also. Most were caught using maniac minnows in green watermelon with black flakes, several were on crankbaits in crawdad colors, and some more were taken on a white jake’s lure w/red spots.

I also got a big slab of a bluegill that would rival any of the fattest ones in the Cabelas aquarium. He bit a pretty big crankbait (presumptuous little fella). It was also nice that the whole area over there was wakeless. Very nice! Good luck on your trip.

P.S. The pic for my avatar was taken by my wife from shore at the exact spot I’m taking about. Best fishing was morning and evening.

Thanks for the report.I was down there last year around mothers day and slayed them just wading the shallows I was fishing just past the sand dune area.I was just wondering if the bass were that shallow still becasue of the heat.Sound like there still around the flats, thanks agian!

I was down there Thursday and caught fish all over. Spinner baits worked the best for us.

I may be wrong in my directions but I believe it is the Southeast corner of Sand Hollow there is a sandy point that runs way out into the lake, if wading, Cast as far as you can with a weightless senko or double tail hula grub, texas rigged with an 1.8 oz. bullet weight. Slowly drag them in, the fish down there are hungry and search for food constantly. A slow retrieve will surely get noticed by a passer by.
