The fishing was pretty slow for us and a total grind. We ended up with 20.38# and good for 14th place. A lot of bags over 20#'s were weighed yesterday. We only caught 11 keepers during the 12 hour tournament. We started shallow hoping for a big bite but it never came. We did get a 3.75 and a 3 off the 1st spot. Ran deep right as it was getting dark and didn't finish our limit until 11PM, and it was our best fish of the night a 5.9 and we had 2 just under 4# and two 3.5's to finish out the limit we weighed. Only lost one big fish all night that would have helped us.

We had the craziest/ scariest thing that has ever happened to me on the water about 4AM Sunday morning. A boat was coming towards us that had no running lights on. I had dad shine the spotlight on him to make sure he saw us, and he didn't like that. He started yelling and cussing at us. He was so drunk and slurring that you could hardly even understand what he was saying. At that point he turned the boat and floored it coming right at us. I jumped down and fired the big motor and floored it with the trolling motor still in the water as he was trying to run over us. He missed up by about 20 feet. He circled back towards us then turned back up river and was moving very slowly. I immediately called officer McSpadden of TWRA. He was at home asleep, but got up and had his boat in the water within 20 minutes. As luck would have it the boat turned around and came down river and was sitting at Sequoyah when officer McSpadden called me. He found the boat and arrested the driver for BUI and some other charges.
It absolutely scared me to death but thankful they were caught and nobody was hurt.
Congrats to Rogne and Carey on the mega bag in the tournament and to everyone that cashed a check. Looking forward to the next one!
