Yes there is a saltwater fishing club in the High Desert! We meet the last Tuesday of every month in Palmdale at the California Pantry. We charter trips at least once a month. Our Ports of departures are San Diego, Long Beach, Ventura/Oxnard, Santa Barbara and Port San Luis.
We also enjoy participating with other fishing clubs. Currently we have members active with the Ventura County Sportfishing Club and located throughout Southern California. Our web site is http://www.SaltwaterAnglers.org
I know, I couldn’t believe it either, a saltwater fishing club in the High Desert? When I first made contact with Jim Allen and his club I didn’t know quite what to think. I did a seminar for this club last year and it was quite nice. They have quite a few knowledgeable members. If you live anywhere in the high desert, this club is for you. 
By the way Jim, I notice your smiley has the shades on. Must be because of the desert sun eh?
