Safe Ice anywhere in Utah?

There are several reports that have been posted about members ice fishing several upper elevation lakes.

Strawberry in the shallower bays, Scofield in several areas, Huntington Reservoir and Currant Creek to name a few.

](Mantua Saturday — Postimages)

Mantua ice update Saturday afternoon: 1 1/2 inches of clear ice, some holes were drilled out from the boat launch area on the southwest corner of the reservoir. A few areas are still open where flocks of waterfowl are paddling around but it is 95% capped. For safety reasons I wouldn’t recommend venturing out yet until it gets quite a bit thicker.

Scofield, Huntington, Cleveland, high Uintas lakes, Strawberry (Soldier Creek and Mud Creek bays) are fishable. Still early ice at Scofield and Strawberry bays, so use caution. And good luck!

Thank you everyone that posted suggestions, I really appreciate it!

My Grandsons (5x2 and 3x2) are chomping at the bit to go ice fishing!  Just today they were asking me when we are going ice fishing!  I do not do the Facebook thing, I rely solely on this site for my fishing information.

Is anyone willing to divulge places that have safe ice?  I realize that once word gets out, the place will be over crowded, thus if you want to PM me, that is acceptable.  Huntington?  Mantua?  Fish Lake?  I just read current creek may be starting be fishable.

I have never gone this long without hitting the ice!  Unfortunately, the warm weather has allowed me to do lots of other projects, but I savor the ice time and the break away from the other to-do’s that happen all year long!

Thanks in advance!
