Hit Rockport yesterday with my bro. We got there around 7 and fished until noon. The action was great. We caught 16 trout between the two of us and missed a dozen more bites. Some had some size but most were around 14". Fat and healthy fish…great fishery for trout. The ice was 12 or so inches and hard. About 5" of snow on top. Pretty busy out there but we set up in the middle near the dam. We were in about 100’ of water. Dont be afraid to venture out away from people. I always see people right on top of each other and not catching anything. All fish were caught between 18-30 feet. They would come through about every 20 minutes. They did like some jigging action though, dead sticking made them swim away. Lift 6" and rest 5 seconds worked the best for me. They usually hit on the rest. I was using a jig with a white curly tail grub, tipped with some powerbait. My bro was using a ratfink with crawlers. They didnt care what we had they were slamming the baits. Lots of fun and great weather. I usually do pics but none this time, sorry.
Later,
Chris
