Lucky enough to find the perch and some decent ones too. Brought home 22 big enough for some good filets and put back plenty of little guys. My son caught the only trout of the day, but it was a good one.

It looks like you had a great day, and nice to hear the edges held up nicely. Thanks for reporting.
How thick was the ice?
I bet there are 3 or more feet of fresh snow on the ice today (1/1/23). I wanted to go tomorrow but I bet the park is not even out.
How thick was the ice?
I measured it and it was just under 7".

Went out to RP today, and didn’t even make it on the ice. Edges were slush over open water at the boat ramp. No plank, so no go. Spoke to a guy by the dam on my way out and similar situation, but they’re much braver than I.

At least you gave it a try, I was planning on going out today but after reading all the reports I decided it wasn’t worth it, hopefully things will improve in the coming week. Welcome to the site.
I went through the ice there today up to my knees. Another guy went through up to his chest. It is not worth it.

Where were trying to get on the ice? Was anyone getting on from the west side? I was planning to go saturday. If the edges are that bad, I’ll work instead.

I was at Rockport today. Getting on the ice was tough on the west side but we still managed to do it with a 10 foot plank. I recommend a longer one or a ladder if you decide to go. Once on the ice there was about three inches of water covered with 2 inches of slush over the 6-7 inches of ice. Not very good conditions but we still ended up getting enough perch for a nice fish fry tonight. Be careful out there!

Wow, a 10 ft plank to get on, that isn’t good and with another warm period on the way and more snow, RP might be done until it gets colder. Good thing the catching is still good.
