Road trip report

The weather forecast was good and we both had appointment free days today. We took his 21ft Ranger and headed to Mantua. Oops! Bad choice. The launch area warning buoys were resting on mud. Made a spur of the moment decision to continue over Sardine and take a look at Hyrum. Second oops! The launch ramp concrete was les than a foot from being fully exposed to air. Well, I know from reports on here that Willard still has launchable water in both marinas. We tried working the west dike with grubs and crank baits. Nada! Then we trolled crank baits and curly tailed jigs for a bit. Nada!

Called it a quits about noon. It was a GREAT fishing day. It was a terrible catching day. Maybe next week.

Tight lines y’all.

That was what we found at Willard on Tues and that was why we started slow trolling fligs. We did get a few hits out toward the light pole but we were only trolling at 1.5 mph, using worm harness on lead core line. We figured they wanted it slower, so that is why we started using fligs. How fast were you trolling your cranks Bob?

2 & 1 mph
