What Do The Numbers Represent On A Okuma Product?

Of the first set of 4 numbers , the first 2 numbers represents the year the reel was manufactured. Start the numbering at #25 for the year 2000 when you minus #25 off the first 2 numbers. In this case the first 4 numbers are 4316 so just minus 25 off 43. You get 18. That means the reel was manufactured in 2018.

The next 2 numbers 16 represents the weeks of 2018. So it was manufactured the 16th week of 2018. Finally the last 3 numbers #090. That means this reel was the 90th unit produced that week. This is Okuma’s numbering system. Every company has their own system.

Anyone got any reports on Deer Creek this past weekend ?

I was up there Saturday. Trout action was steady, but not red hot. Fish averaged 14 inches or so, but we were selective and found enough at 16-18" to take home. Most were in the top 10’ pf water. Water temp was 39.

I was up there Saturday. Trout action was steady, but not red hot. Fish averaged 14 inches or so, but we were selective and found enough at 16-18" to take home. Most were in the top 10’ pf water. Water temp was 39.

Thanks . It sounds about what we found when we fished it on Dec. 30th . I caught several , in that 14-18 " range . Mine were all on white crystal bugger, other than one that took a black balanced leech all on a fly rod . Probably around the same depth with a full sink fly line . Mostly just drifting with the wind , I’m sure I was never deeper than 10’

I would assume the wedge dock is still there on the boat ramp ?

Yes, at the wedge dock was still in at the Island Ramp. I didn’t go to the main ramp, but I assume both have it.

I mostly fish solo and my MinnKota keeps me ‘in the game’.

I fish with some friends in  Montana , one of them has the spot lock , seems to work well . Also a couple of them have just the anchor they put out . One is just manual , and it’s a hassle at times ,plus getting the mud etc off of it . Got it hung up one day ,and it took both of us to get it pulled up . It had hooked up to another anchor that someone had to cut loose. Had about 20’ of rope ,and a pretty nice anchor ,hadn’t been down there very long .He now has a spare anchor .  ;)  The other friend has an electric actor system on his bow , which is nice .
