If you aer crazy enough to go spearfishing under water this time of year is it legal to cut out a hole so you can dive?
Be careful, because you are close to your feet. Cutting directly beneath you with legs wide spread is a good technique because you can direct the spray more behind you, BUT MAKE SURE you have good traction… Might take a little practice.

If you mark you hole with enuf garbage and crap - that should help others from ‘finding’ it - the hard way.
What do they do for the polar plunges? They must hack out a good sized hole for folks to drop in? Was up to Hyrum when they had theirs, but had to leave right when it was starting. Suppose they must flag it off after till it refreezes.

No law saying you can’t cut a 100 foot hole in the ice. You can’t cut a hole to fish out of that exceeds 12 inches, at every body of water except 3. Fish Lake, Flaming Gorge, and Bear Lake. You can cut a hole that doesn’t exceed 18 inches at any of those 3.
