Provo river???

Any reports on how the lower or middle provo is doing? I truly need some fish on my fly rod with the harsh winter fever that my fly rod had in the storage room for this long.

PM Old Troller. He posted he hit the Lower.

I’ve been hitting the MP quite frequently and I’ve been having better luck with BH White Wooly Buggers and a CH Black Wooly Bugger. It’s hit and miss with the dry midges for me but nymphing with zebras and discos have been pretty consistent.

Midges size 18 like I said in pm land. Yong stile grey or creme. Brown was working last weekend but that was size 20. Stay on the midges until you find the size/color they want.

Good luck.

I hit the LoPro for a couple hours today between various other tasks. It wasn’t incredible, but I caught several in 2 hours. I got love on either size 16-18 grey sow bugs or small brown San Juan worms. Good day to be out and thus lots of company.

Those would be my choice on the lower. But, I will say, both lower and middle are fishing very well right now for everyone. So get out there and enjoy!.

Luckily I get weekdays off so no big crowds for me when I go this coming weekday’s off. Might have to buy some new fly tying gear tomorrow [:)].

It’s the Provo dude. The same things work year round, midges, emergers, and streamers, unless bugs pop off, have fun and Petri Heil

Oh snap Sohn, sie könnte zu einem sozialistischen.
Be careful over there. It starts with some good Bavarian brew, picking up some language and a copy of Wo Angeln? Extra. All of life seems good. However it’s a very slippery slope to European Socialism:laughing:.

I lol’d and I lol’d quiet loudly as I’m drinking a Das Helle. March 1st can’t come soon enough!

What happens March 1? Are you headed back stateside for a bit?

Hey smart one I was just curious what’s the best thing as of lately with different hatches coming!!! As well I might of just wanted to try tying some new flies as well!!!

The people at sportsman’s warehouse were more helpful then you were.

Wow, cry harder. Don’t ask a silly question and then get pissed if someone actually answers it for you. And good luck on getting anything of value from those pukes at Sportsman’s… Never have I seen a bigger pile of ineptitude and straight up B.S. than when I venture inside SW in need of fishing gear and or advice. You and SW are like a match made in Heaven.

If you don’t know what bugs are prevalent on the Provo by now, you have not spent enough time fishing it or studying the entomology.mlike I said above, the same stuff works all year long, maybe the color is different but you basically need 4 flies, just different colors of each for th Provo

BUT, I have found that the four flies that work on the lower, might not work on the middle and verse visa[;)]

I just got back from the MP. I tried by the bridge between Heber and Midway with only a few hits on a San Juan, Rainbow Warrior and a Pink BH Bunny Leech. I then went down by Jordanelle and caught one 10" brown with a Purple BH Flash - a - bugger. They were sipping midges from the top but I forgot the midge box at home [crazy] Good Luck!

I have only fished a few times on the provo river so I’m a noob on that part of water. Only hit is early spring- early summer.

I highly recommend you to read a book called " How to leave peoples post alone for dummies."

Sounds good.

I always catch many bows and a few brown in the middle provo during this short warm up type of weather. Most 12-15" and a few 16-20+"
