Provo River Walleye

My brother came down to my house with his kids and said he didnt care where we fished he just wanted to go fishing. So i took them to the river to catch some white bass. Fished maybe an hour or so, the river was really clear around the edges so we actually spotted all the fish before we caught them made it kinda fun, then i noticed something spooked all the fish so not thinking anything of it i casted my pink outlaw tube jig into the deep and not even paying attention i had this 7lb walleye follow my jig litterally right to the shore where his back even came out of the water and it darted back into the deep and my heart sank, so as fast as i could i casted again and to my suprise the same fish started to follow my jig towards the shore like clock work and like a bullet he just pounded my jig… there’s no better feeling then landing a big fish.

Nice eye! Probably wasn’t too long of a fight if it hit right at shore, but awesome to see

Great catch! What a rush to see them creeping up, then finally getting that bite.

Whether it was right at shore or out in the middle, I doubt there would have been much of a fight anyway.

Nice 'eye for this time of year, good work.[sly]

Very Nice Fish, nice and fat.

Nothing better than sight fishing walleye. Thanks for the detailed report and be sure to eat that cheek meat!

That 'eye is a trophy in anyone’s book.

Strong work, Mud.

Thanks for the story and pic and for giving details as to what you used.

Think I might venture out on UL in my boat this evening and see if I can’t hook up with one of those elusive walleys. So far, they’ve avoided all my offerings this year. But that’s business as usual for me. Someday I’ll figure out how to catch them consistently.

At least, I hope I figure it out. [;)]

That’s a damn good size 'eye!
