Looking to go camping and fishing this weekend, might be the last good weather for a while. I have never camped at strawberry and was wondering the camping situation? I can’t find anything online where we can primitive camp. For example could we just set up a tent by the lake? Thanks
The only tent camping outside of the many campgrounds I have seen is west of the road that goes from highway 40 to the entrance to the Strawberry marina. There are several places that you can turn-off and do some tent camping but none near the reservior.

I’d hit “mud creek” lots of good free camping spots. But yes, not real close to the reservoir.
We boat camp in the narrows quite often. Spent 3 nights there this past weekend.
Not many people around there camping this time of the year. Nice and quiet.
