Went all the way to Clear Lake at Delta. FROZE.. only a 2 foot wide trickle of river. and even it was thinly iced over.

I usually wait for all the lakes to freeze up for the real good duck hunting. HIT THE RIVER, mallards, golden eyes, and geese. I love jump shooting rivers, maybe set up a couple deeks on an nice, open, bend. I welcome the hard deck for all of my winter activities.

Dude, when Clear lake is froze head north to Fish Springs. It holds a lot of birds in its warm springs when everything else freezes up.
Maybe we can work something out. I won’t pray for ice on Utah Lake until the first or second week of December as long as you bring me a duck. Heck man, just give in and join us out on the ice. You won’t see me out there anytime soon. I have to wait for at least 4 inches of ice. Big body + (ice < 4inches) = freezing Texan soaking wet and mad as all get out.[angelic][angelic]

never been to fish springs, have always wanted to. headed out there tomorrow for a recon mission to find out where to go and where to hunt. Plan on an actual all day assault on it thurs or friday. Thanks. Any suggestions i should follow?
