I’m taking a spur of the moment Fishing trip from Boise to American Falls. My buddy lives there and says he’s right on the Reservoir and I was hoping you guys can give me some Go To Places>Either on the Res. or anywhere else.Small ponds creeks rivers, ice anything! I will be bank fishing and I’m bringing my Ice Rod, Fly Rod, and a few spinning rods…so what is close and productive over there? I’ve never been but I have a GPS. I’m not looking for secret holes or anything, but any other info would be great! I’ll post my catches if any and some reports for you!

If you are looking for soft water at American Falls the dam on the west side of the dam is a good place to start. If you want hard water drive 15 minnutes tords Aberdeen and hit big hole. Good Luck
My buddy is a cop up there and we’ll be fishing all friday and I’m gonna do a ride along saturday hopefully then fish sat night and I got sunday open too. Heading back to boise sunday night
Springfield reservoir can be fun. I believe it is flies and lures only. Very close to where you’ll be. Should be open water.
Springfield still has open water, flies and lures only, can only harvest 1 of 2 and must be over 20 inches. I’ve been hitting big hole up with pretty good luck on the ice. I work Friday but should be there saturday, pm me for mor info, might be able to meet u saturday if u’d like
Hopefully this won’t be my only trip up that way> I plan on making a big roundabout trip this summer starting over there and getting through Bear Lake and Utah and back around and try to knock a few new species off my checklist.
