Went out to Pineview yesterday and tried my luck at some musky. Started fishing around 2 and I think I went around the whole lake casting everything in my tackle box with no luck. We finally got bored and started to fish for crappie and had our limit in a hour. A couple of them were some slabs but most of them were the average dinks but they sure did taste good. I used that coconut recipe I got off this forum! We introduced ourselves to a fellow B.F.T’er, I think it was wildcat if I remember. Got to see a noisy speed boat up close and personal to while we were out there.
nice meeting you, pv is sure over loaded with crappie! people need to get out and thin the herd down a little bit
I was surprised how many people were there myself. Nice meeting you to by the way. Did you do any good? We were thinking of going back up Monday.
Can you fish from the shore for crappie or are they too deep?
I’m pretty sure you could. They were all about 30 feet deep. I would try the north end of cemetery point by the rocks and any small jig or lure would work below a slip bobber or something, we were tipping them with a small piece of worm. The crappie need thinning out like wildcat said. Good luck.
