POSITION: **REGIONAL EDUCATION/YOUTH COORDINATOR – **MICHIGAN
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Education & Outreach
SALARY RANGE: Full-time salary with benefits
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for working with Michigan Pheasants Forever chapters and the PF regional biologist to promote, develop and support education and youth programs under the NO CHILD LEFT INDOORS™ initiative - Develop partnerships with agencies and other organizations to promote and carry out youth habitat projects, community activities and youth events - Conduct/coordinate Leopold Education Project and other workshops for chapters and educators working with the LEP state coordinator - Maintain a high level of communication with the chapters - Promote PF memberships and youth Ringnecks memberships - Create Michigan Youth Leadership Council - Develop communication to network chapter leaders with their communities - Host a Michigan Focusing on Forever Chapter Workshop - Monitor and conduct evaluations of all programs - Assure programs and participants are recorded with national office - Travel throughout state required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: -
Bachelors’ degree in outdoor education, natural resources, biology, environmental education or related field.

Applicant should have experience with formal and/or nonformal education and be comfortable with sporting firearms and hunting (having hunted not required). - Familiar with or trained in Leopold Education Project desirable. - Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to cooperate, motivate and work with volunteers as well as young people in a variety of settings. - Ability to work independently as well as a team member (with field and national office staff). - Basic computer skills (i.e. word processing, data base management). - Dedication to wildlife conservation and the enjoyment of the outdoors.
