hey this is a late post from sunday but i thought i would post anyways. went fishing from 1200 noon to 3 30 pm and caught about 50 nice perch btween me and my dad. so many little dink smallies i didint count[ that was kinda annoying cause if the bass hit it it didint get a chance to reach the perch. and a couple of trout, all in all it was a good day and i had some good eats last night. also it was nice to fill the freezer from the lack of perch from the ice season.
Heading to Bunny Gultch tomorrow is this close to where you were.
not really , but i hear its doing pretty decent too. got em on worms with 1 tiny split shot and then perch eyes or meat.
wow thats a mess of perch, pretty good for the middle of summer.
sounds like fun [;)]
Welp as he didn’t say, and judging by the nature of the pix croppin’ - seems to not want to say, we oughter let him have his piece (ala peace?)
Nice stringer though. I will ask what size class you managed to run into? They look purdy chunky. I know some folks like their big bass, or hog-toed slimers, but some light tackle, fast action - and I’m a perch fan all the way.
Definitely looking forward to some low-water fall action. Won’t be long now till the kids are putting up daddy’s boat for the season. Then it’s ON for us small angler folkses.
So didn’t find any bigger smallies to put up a fight?
ya no big bass the biggest was maybe 12 , like i said that can get annoying when you cant keep 6 to 12 inch smallies off.
Edit: Guessing is not allowed when member does not want a location known, see rules about Hot spotting for exact wording.

good luck.[;)] plus ive never fished in idaho
If that’s the lake that I think it might maybe be then I have been having some good crappie action for the last couple of weeks.
Will have to go back this weekend to see if they are still up biting and see if my new pole can help keep them from throwing the hook.
Nice mess of perch by the way. ![]()
They aren’t pushing state records but they are big enough to fillet and eat.
no crappie where im at but some nice crappie there, plus alot easier to fillet then the leather skinned perch. been eating fried perch all week and i havnt gotten sick of em yet, i think im gonna make some of tube dudes perch chowder cause its soooo goood.
Funny thing is that people have been telling me for fifteen years that there aren’t any crappie where I have been cathcing them. But that is their loss i guess.
Chowder sound pretty good enjoy your meal.
i know what your talking about i got a lot there too and ive never seen any from there ever until this year. pretty cool stuff man especially when you can get em on the fly rod then its every time you strip it in you get a tap.
if you want that recipe im sure TD would let you know about it, you can make it really with any white fleshed fish, crappie, gills, walleye, perch, WB even small smallies. gotta have the extra bacon though too thats what does it.
I don’t think folks want recipes, they want locations!. Not me though. Perch taste good but I’ve no interest. If it ain’t a brook trout it ain’t $h&![;)]
That’s funny I call all of the trout just colors phases of albino carp. LOL
Guy at work gets mad when I tell him that every fish in the berry are just chubs wether I’m talking about trout or salmon and that the only thing worth catching out of there are the crayfish.
We all have our favorites to chase.
I have a recipe for trout that involves a shingle and a fire. Lol
I caught a couple of perch early this morning at Deer Creek … on the lil’ Jakes I was using to target the trout.
I’d never had one before and normally I throw that little stuff back – but wanted to try one based on comments here.
Boy has throwing those all back been a mistake.
Just pan-fried the Perch fillets in butter with about a turn of the lemon-pepper grinder… I wanted to try them almost naked to get the flavor of the fish.
Wow… they are fantastic.
Next trip up I’m going to target them – hopefully with good enough results for a Sunday meal.
Walleye will blow your mind…perch only come in 2nd best when compared to those!
I’ve heard that too.
At some point I will need to take a trip to target some Walleye.
