I am going to head to panguitch on saturday with my boy and was wondering if anybody has been there in the last few weeks, i am looking for an ice report. I want to make sure the ice is still solid on the edges.
I heard it has been in the upper 40s at the lake, which has me worried.
You’re talking Panguitch Lake, correct? The one that sits up at 8,200 ft. elevation?
I haven’t been up there, but I would imagine you still have a little bit of safe ice left. It got damn cold last night!!
Looking at UDOT traffic camera’s in that area, I’d say it’s a good bet there will be solid ice to access the lake for a bit longer…
(FWIW the high temperature for the town of Panguitch yesterday was 25 degrees! The lake should have been building ice, not losing it!)
