Oregon Salmon in September

Anyone out there have any experience fishing for Salmon in Oregon in September? I am wondering about guides and such. I usually go middle of August and go do the bouy 10 thing.
It would be great If I only had to drive to the Dalles.
I looked at the Oregon board and it has been a month since there last post.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don’t be overly hesitant to post on the Oregon boards also, never know who’s lurking.

You might want to call a couple of guides and see if they will shut down the taking of Chinook in September? Coho should be ok.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will do a search and see if I can find a guide in the Dalles area. All of the guides I have used before are located around Astoria.
I will post on the Oregon site and see if anyone is watching.

I grew up in Oregon and spent most summers filling up my salmon tag so I have a decent amount of experience. I am not sure how far you plan to travel but I always fished out of either Depoe Bay or Tilamook Bay, both are at least an hour from bouy 10. We always did really well trolling with a diver, dodger, and squid setup. If you are planning on using a guide I would recommend dockside charters out of Depoe, those guys seem to catch more fish than anyone else. Hope this is somewhat helpful. Good luck!

If you are fishing the river, from Warrior Rock to the Bonneville Damn is usaually best from mid Sept. thru Oct.

Here is the webs of a couple of guys you might want to call … they will be full of information.
