Hit Oneida with basshunter on saturday. Ended up with some nice smallies and a decent eye. Nothing special but it was nice to see the average size of the smallies was a lot bigger than normal. Hopefully it’s a sign of things to come up there. The fall bite is definitly on!
They’re looking a lot better this year. I went up there on Friday, and I only caught one under a foot, and I got a nice fat 17.5". That’s a really nice eye for Oneida too. I think I need to get back up there again this week.
Just fish what i mentiond to you befor and you will avg that size.. go deep and work it slow… the eyes have slowed way down fron the weather…
Cool, thanks for the info. I will definitely have a rod rigged up for the eyes when I go up there.
Very nice! I was playing up there too for the weekend. The colors are beautiful and the Smallies are getting bigger!
Smiles Always!

i was wondering where you were, thought you might have drank yourself into the coma. thanks for this write up, im thinking of taking the wife up there to get her first smally on the fly rod
Did anyone try fishing the river below? I am wondering how high it is, and how thick the moss is. Thanks!
It’s been terrible. I’ve only been fishing twice in the last month and a half. Time for me to sit down and really evaluate my life choices. Nothing like the harvest to destroy your night and weekend fishing trips.
Definitely higher and murkier than I like. I tried it about a month ago, and I missed about a 10" smallie and caught that nasty swimbait whacking sucker. It looked just as turbid last week.
