ONEIDA NARROWS REPORTS

Sorry to here you will miss all the good fishing this summer. There is gentle men on the base that works in the hospital his name is TracyRue he is a fishing fool.If you can get hooked up with him you whould have a great time. Be safe and get a sand bag…

when do you deploy? Even if the ice isnt out come up and we can try the river, They seem to come up before the water up above is warmed.

Norton Bay & Big Sand Bay at Salmon Falls Creek Reservoir are open but the water is around 36 - 38 deg so things are still slow but it is fishable.

I hit up the narrows yesterday. Didnt make it to the lake but the road is open. Didnt get any eyes at the dam or further down river either. Water is looking good but still cold due to the weather conditions we keep getting with the back and forth. Few trout once we gave up on the eyes. I would say a few stretches of warm weather and they should be on the move.

Gonna go camp/fish on the narrows this weekend. Other than trout and walleyes, what other species are in there to fish for? Also…never caught a walleye before but I have read up on their temperment…what bait is recommended the narrows walleyes?

There are smallmouth and carp in the river along with the trout and walleye. In the reservoir above there are walleye, smallmouth, perch and carp. Jigs in white or chartreuse have done best for me for the walleye.

Thanks for the info. Any reports of catfish in either the river or the res?

I tried down river for the catfish and there is alot of moss flowing made it hard to get much of a soak. I have never tried or heard of anyone trying on the lake side. If anyone has i would love to hear.
