I thought the day was going to be a great day of fishing, we got on the water @ 7:30, Air temp wasn’t to bad, actually ended up being the warmest part of the day . We headed over to our usual spots, could not mark any fish, we tossed some jigs for 30 min or so with only one 21 3/4" cut. about 4 lbs. had several light hits but none to aggressive. we worked our way down the bank as the wind started in on us early jigs were not working so we broke out the trolling gear, tried lucky’s but not so lucky today for us. I could feel things were just a bit off, the air temp got colder as the day went on and the wind made it tough to keep a line trolling We fished till about 3:00 catching a fish an hour. None to fast, we drifted Jigs, Trolled everything in the box, about 2:00 we pointed the nose of the boat towards the ramp and trolled on home, I kicked up the speed going into the wind and that seemed to help the bite, we caught 4 fish going back into the ramp.
Like I said it felt off all day today, felt like a storm brewing, with a cold nasty wind. The fish we did catch were very light bites. Plus I had a really bad day with my knots, I hooked and lost 4 lures, it was new line and i thought I was careful with my knots but I guess cold hands did not help. I hope those hooks disintegrate quickly, one of the cuts I lost right at the boat and it was a dandy!
Hope to get in at least one more trip, before the harddeck. My question is, anyone having success catching Rainbows right now, we did not target them today, but they had moved of the areas we caught them all year. I looked for the closer in towards shore, but I did not find many fish on the finder at all today. Just wondering if anyone has had success finding them this fall.
See ya all on the water!
