Sorry to post this here but I need help. My son got a grouse today and I need to find a taxidermist. Any help would be appreciated.
Look in the yellow pages under taxidermists and supplies, nine are listed. Darin Gardner did my turkey but his number isn’t listed and I don’t have it any more. No matter who does it, it will take a few months in most cases. Make sure you freeze the whole bird and the feathers are laying flat against the body. WH2
Thanks WH2 I got Darin’s number off a post on the DWR website. How much does it usually run?
Your best bet is to call him but I think it was over $100.00, he can give you an idea over the phone.I’m not sure of the exact cost, my turkey was $125.00 and that was just for a tail mount.
You might try Fergesons taxidermy. It is on the old highway leaving Ogden. Directly east of the old north star drive in. He charges $130 for birds and he does an excellent job. Beware of those who charge alot less. My experience has been you get what you pay for. I wish I had his number with me but you can find him in the yellow pages. I hope this helps. G shorthair
YURY RULAN. WILDLIFE ART TAXIDERMY. 7600 SO REDWOOD. HE IS A MASTER TAXIDERMIST. HE COMPETES IN WORLD COMPATITIONS. HE CANT ME BE BEET BUT HE IS SPENDY.
crossineye,
You wouldn’t happen to be from Minnesota would ya? “Spendy” is supposed to be a word reserved for those from Up North, don’tcha know. You betcha I lived there twenty-some years ago.
