And, even if you think you know the lake well, you will be surprised how different everything seems after dark.
Very true! Deer hunting, when it gets dark, the woods becomes a different world!

That is a tough restriction but then again we have lifeguards on most of the lakes here in Cali. They can’t rescue what they can’t see.[crazy]
I worked with the County FD for 7 years. I mostly did water rescue. If you could see what was going on during the day, you wouldn’t even want to go there at night. Not for the weak stomachs.![]()
Wellllll…I could give the advice, but doubt that many of our members could pull it off.
**What T-Junior is referring to is some of the night cattin’ trips we used to do on Willard Bay, at the south marina. I would get my three younguns set up fishing off the bank, under an overhead light, where I could watch them while I was out tubing. I could see them, but they couldn’t see me out in the darkness. **
**Now, both TN2 and I speak fluent “Donald Duck”…a “talent” that amuses some folks and drives others wacko (quacko). When we have ducky conversations it gets wierd…especially when we speak Spanish in “duck-speak”. **
**Anyway, in those days gone by, I would periodically issue forth with my rendition of what an agitated feline might sound like, using my best ducky ME-E-E-E-E-OW-W-W-W-W. The kids knew who and what was making the wierd noise…but other bank tanglers or casual strollers did not. They would stop, with eyes bugging out, and ask “What the %$## was that?” I guess that noise coming across the lake, out of the darkness, could cause some consternation. **
Maybe carrying a signal horn might be a better idea for most tubers and tooners.

Now that sounds like an awesome babysitting service TD!!!
We had a night floatilla last night…(before I had just gone by myself) it was one of the funnest trips I have had in the last couple of weeks. Perfect night, the cats were biting – and you could see little green glow sticks all across the lake like fireflies, as most everybody was trolling side by side with minnows under a bobber engaged in friendly conversion…Every once in a while, I would see my neighbor go by on plane with a big cat hauling him around like a water skier.
Glad to hear your catching some fish Dusty. Work has been seriously getting in the way of my fishing lately.
I hear ya on the water skiing.
I would always ask for my Pops permission before going somewhere except when I had a Kitty on the line while in the tube.
I would just tell him that I would be back shortly. He said that if I didn’t, then at least send a post card from wherever I ended up.
The Kitties at Willard used to be some good quality ones.![]()
