Anyone have ice condition intel at Newton??? Thanks in advance and wishing all of you the best hard deck season.
Went by this afternoon. 4 inches at boat ramp. Ice looked unsafe or I just felt uneasy. It is completely froze over. I would take it easy if I were to fish it in the next week. These colder temps will definately thicken it up. I did see some foot prints and sled prints on the ice. I would feel bad if I said it was good ice and someone fell through. Be careful! LC
My buddy fished it last weekend. 3 inches caught a lot of small perch and he claimed he had two musky break him off on the hook set.

Ice varied in thickness from 5" to as little as 2", I tried several spots around the dam and about halfway up the lake. I did not venture out into the middle of the lake at any point as the ice typically got thinner the deeper I went. Fishing was amazingly bad. I fished in 5 different locations trying variouse depths from 7 to 30 feet without so much as a nibble and very few fish spotted on the fish finder.
