The Nevada Striper Club is having an open tournament in May.
This is open to the public and no membership required.
Here is a view into a tournament.
NDOW allows you to catch and keep any or all Stripers under less than 20".
Striper 20" or longer the limit is 20 fish of this size.
You can fish all three days or any day or time you can get to the lake. Lake Mead in it’s entirety is open to fishing by boat or shore. (LAKE MOHAVE & Willow Beach are off limits)
You can leave the lake at any time and return and fish at a later time or day. You can fish just one day if you want.
Sort thru your fish and pick out your (4) four biggest fish and bring them to the weigh in on Sunday.
Please keep your fish on ice, any discolored fish or any fish not having red gills will not be accepted.
I’d recommend that anyone interested in the club check out this event. Whizzle and I participated last year and had an absolute blast. We will be participating this year as well. The club is a very nice group of fellows and is more than willing to help out fellow anglers.
There are cash prizes for top finishers and also raffle-type prizes for those that participate. Last year, we won an AC plug and $75 in gift certificates in the raffle which more than covered the reasonable entry fee. Oh and they had a great BBQ spread and fed us at the weigh in. Even if you can’t participate, I’d recommend going to the weigh in at least to see how it works and chat with club members.
Erawk sounds like fun.
But I cant find any information on there site other then it’s coming up real soon. I would like to know Dates, Entry form, Rules. So I don’t miss out.
Thanks..
We are having our regular monthly meeting tonite at Bass Pro Shop @ 7pm up stairs in the old fine gun room.
Next to the guns and bridge to the archery range.
You can sign up for the open at anytime before the May tournament.
I will see if you can mail you entry forms and check by mail.
