I am taking some scouts out ice fishing this weekend and need help where to go. We took them to strawberry and only caught 2 fish. I would like to take them some where that we could catch some fish. Any help would be great. I was thinking that we could head up to rockport what do you guys think? We would be coming from slc. Thanks for your help in advance.
With this warm weather we are having the berry or the higher lakes may be the only safe lakes to ice fish…
I would look into deer creek. I am not sure that the edges are very good though take a plank just incase. probably alot of slush too
Go to the DWR site and check out the reports, not many places where the ice is safe. They reported people out on Deer Creek but that the ice was quickly deteriorating and didn’t recommend going out on it. Strawberry reports having 20" of ice, the Narrows area unsafe and to fish at 30 feet. Not my info, info from the DWR which is not always super up-to-date.
