There are two different subspecies of whitefish, rainbows and three subspecies of cutthroat. Good luck. I figured some of the pic would give members a hard time. I let the Golden trout stand as the correct answer but do you know what type of trout it is?
Golden trout are a subspecie of rainbow trout. California golden trout might be the more correct answer.
What about the whitefish in photo 2? Is it a bonneville or Bear lake? They are two different species. [;)]

Good catch. When I first started the contest, my thought was to have a picture of a Bonneville and a Bear lake whitefish but somehow I got side tracked and added the mountain whitefish instead. I actually had that picture labeled as a Bonneville/ Bear lake whitefish, until you brought it to my attention. Soooo, that puts you into the first place, sorry Fin-s-fish.

Yep you are right on that one, I should have included the scientific name Salmo aguabonita. I wasn’t thinkin of how colloquial names can be interchangeable. Yes I have heard of a subspecies of rainbow named but golden but I honestly wouldn’t be able to identify that one since I have not seen an actual fish or illustration of one of those. I’m assuming it might be an albino haha. I have yet to catch either a bonneville whitefish or bear lake whitefish. However the descriptions in the fishing proc. posit that these two species are so similar that under 10 inches they are indistinguishable. Thus, I used their listing to include both as that particular specimen in the picture could be either. Only scale counts or maybe phyrngeal tooth counts would positively distinguish for certain.
