The old plastic worm has been around forever, can be fished in 100 different ways, 10,000 different colors, catches them anytime of year, can be used on any type of gear, and baits are cheap. Just doesn’t get any more simple than that…

By far it has to be the jig for me. You can fish them slow and hardly move them, or you can full on retrieve them as fast as you can. I actually did both today and caught lots of fish on them. If there is a largemouth in there, it will eat a jig, bar none.
I recently have been pouring my own, and I have been tying an arky style 1/4 oz jig painted and skirted to match the california 420 smallie beaver. That combo was DEADLY today… I have a feeling that it will be deadly in the future too.

I have been fishing them out here at Stansbury. I have used them at pelican with great success too. I tie an array of colors, but the Cali 420, Camo, and black blue and the best. I sell them for $3 each.

It’s hard to pick just one, but a curly tail grub has probably been my all around most productive lure for bass and most everything else from tiger musky to bluegill.
Spinnerbait would have to be my top choice if I only had one lure to fish with year round.
Now days there are some awesome looking ones being made! My personal fav is the Pepper Jigs. I’ve caught more LMB on them than any other lure by far this year and trust me I use 5-6 rods every time I go out!
