Took the Sparkinator and my tube to the pond again. Got there about 11 am and left about 4:30 pm., light breeze. Only caught 29 bassies, dang, rough day. 
Sorry, couldn’t resist being a little obnoxious, [angelic] Anyways, fished the point and N.E. bay. Used my standard reaper. Tried a few other stuff but it was by far the best for bass. Only 3 were over 12 " but 1 was at 16. 
No, BassRods and the rest of you bass guys, I didn’t keep any big guys. Just kept 2 small guys for supper, ok? Not to worry, I agree with all the recent postings. There is absolutely no reason to keep a big guy at Mantua now. Take a pic. if necessary and release. Sorry,no pics. from me this time. I find it too much of a bother when alone in a tube. Bassies were in kind of close but still the bigger guys are a little deeper around pods of weeds. Also notice a lot more blue activity with a few perch shallow. I would think a guy with the right fly attractor could have a ball.
P.S. Lets hear it for some chubs at Mantua. Don’t worry, I ain’t going to be a bucket biologist and plant any. I am strongly against that kind of thing. :evil:
Leaky and the Sparkinator

I’ve been fishing Mantua for the last couple days but I didn’t go today so I guess I missed you. Yesterday I found some bass in some super shallow water on the north end of the lake looking like they were getting ready to start spawning because they were in pairs kind of circling in bottom in the same area. None of the fish I caught had red tails from making nests so I guess the spawn is still a couple days away. On Tuesday a caught a nice 17 incher but he to was in deeper water but I did see three nice bass that would of gone about five pounds. Sounds like you don’t need any help this year but I will say that I saw some very nice bass were you use to see me fishing last year [;)] that gets over looked a lot but they just weren’t bitting. Smallie is from pineview this year. Matt

I thought that might be you out there this afternoon. I was up there today with my wife and daughter it was her first soft water fishing trip so we were looking for the blues. I will start a new post as not to steal yours. We were out in the little 12 footer.
