Mac's on the Bear

It was a great weekend of fishing at Bear Lake. I have to say the best weekend we have ever had. We landed several fish in the 7 to 15 lbs range with this one being the best of the trip. This is my best mac to date on the lake. The fish was 17.5 lbs, I hope to catch it again on another day.

Dang, that is a a beaut!

Jigging? Trolling? Kok lures?

Great looking fish you have there…congrats on the catch. Thanks for the post and pic.

Trolling Rapalas on the East side of the lake.

That’s awesome, all these big mac pics are driving me nuts. I need to get my butt over there. Has anyone had any luck jigging?

Beautiful! One of these days I need to catch my first Mac out of that lake.

Props to you for releasing that 25+ yr old monster.

Good looking fish, and a nice picture with the old Bear Lake blue water background.

Never launched on Bear Lake, but I’d like to one day. We’re you using a downrigger while trolling, and if so, about how deep do the fish typically hold this time of year?

we use down riggers and we fished in 70 to 80 feet of water. Hope to get back up there again before the spawn.

When you troll Rapalas, due you just run them alone or with a fasher/dodger ahead of them?
